Marines protect rice farmers during the Vietnam War in Operation HARVEST MOON. 200 Marines are air-lifted by UH-34 helicopters from Marine Aircraft Group (MAG)-36. Helicopter gunships from Marine Observation Squadron (VO)-6 provide air support by strafing and bombing the surrounding hills. This operation is in response to the Viet Cong's attempt to tax the crops. The tax is not collected. [Photo: Pfc. D. Marsh / Defense Dept. Photo / Marines / October 8, 1965]
