Lomonosov Ridge, seafloor map. This map shows the Lomonosov Ridge (centre) as seen from northern Europe, looking across the Arctic and the North Pole towards the Barents Sea. Northern Greenland (white) is at left. Arctic Russia is at right. The seabed depth varies from shallow (light blue) on the continental shelves, to deep (dark blue) in the ocean basins. This ridge, the main feature of the relatively shallow Arctic Ocean, is at the centre of territorial disputes in the Arctic. The topography of the seafloor has been depicted using IBCAO (the International Bathymetric Chart of the Arctic Ocean) data.
