Socialists celebrating international Workers Day at Clekenwell Green includ a group of Ahwazi Arabs who are protesting against the ethnic cleansing of their area and the killing of Ahwazi Arabs. Their oil-rich area was annexed in 1925, and they have been subject to discrimination since then, with the area being under military control for many years as Iran attempts to stop Ahwazi political dissent and cultural expresion by imprisonment and hangings.
