Zincirli Bedesten covered market built by the Ottoman Empire in 1781, Gaziantep, South East Turkey. Gaziantep is one of the oldest cultural centers in the southeastern Anatolian region. The city is just located 127 kilometres by road north of Aleppo, Syri. It is the sixth-most populous city in Turkey, with a population of over million, and also one of the country's most important agricultural and industrial centres. The history of the city extends to 4000 BC, when most civilizations were found on the surrounding lands. It is located between the Mesopotamia and Mediterranean and stands at the intersection point of the roads connecting east to south and north to west. It is also located on the historic Silk Road.
