The Kittyhawk variant of the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, an American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. In 1942, it played a critical role with Allied air forces in North Africa where it pursued and harried the retreating German Army undet the command of General Rommel.
