Survivors of a Viet Cong attack in the village of Fhsah Den and Thanh y search through the wreckage of their destroyed homes for salvageable items, June 11, 1970. The attack occurred due to the villagers' refusal to support local Viet Cong activities or provide rice to the Communists. Over 150 civilians, primarily women, children, and elderly individuals, lost their lives in the raid. This photograph was taken by Sgt Berkowits from the 127 GVB-180 lat Mar Div Vietnam unit.
