Sugar is obtainable in fome degree from moft vegetables, and is of opinion, that fugar is direSily nutritious. There is alfo good reafonto fuppofe, that the general ufe of fugar in Europe has had the effect of extin-guifliing the fcurvy, the plague, and many other difeafes formerly epidemical.
