Pictured: Oldest Rider, Mr Doug Redpath (75) from Duns collects his trophy. One of the original Border Common Ridings, there is a reference to a ceremony in Lauder's Town Council minutes of 1686. On Saturday the Cornet receives the Burgh Flag at the Tollbooth and leads the mounted cavalcade to the Watering Stane and onto the Burgess Cairn, the only boundary stone still in existence.
