Harry Goodwin at the wheel of the Star racing car with mechanic, Victor Taylor, 1905. The Star Racing Car (number 1), dubbed "The Fastest Car in England", was manufactured by The Star Engineering company (formerly the Star Cycle Company) of Stewart Street, Wolverhampton from 1904. On 30 May 1905, two Stars driven by brothers, Harry (FJ) and F R Goodwin, were entered in the English Elimination Trials for the forthcoming Tourist Trophy Race on the Isle of Man (14 September 1905). One qualified, but, like many others, failed to finish the race. F. R. Goodwin, a former racing cyclist, was the manager of the Star Motor Company's London outlet. The Star Motor Agency was at 16 Upper St Martin's Lane, London WC.
