A 15th century pub,‘Punch Bowl’ on Stonegate, one of the narrow cobbled stoned streets lined with medieval buildings of small businesses, such as shops, pubs, eateries and tourist souvenir shops in the historical quarter of York in Yorkshire, Britain. A street name with the ending of ‘Gate’, is a Viking word for ‘street’. In AD 866, the invading Danish Vikings made York their capital city – ‘Jorvik.’
