The tendo Achilles at its insertion into the Thetendo Achilles. tuberosity of the os calcis will be found to lie nearerto the external than to the internal malleolus, sothat it is displaced outwards, and is, as Adamshas remarked, further removed from the posteriortibial artery than in a normal foot. The other muscles, the tendons of which areoccasionally found to be contracted in equino-varus,and thus prevent restitution of the foot, are theextensor proprius pollicis, the long flexors of thegreat toe and of the other toes, and the abductor ofthe great toe. The place and manner of divisionof these various tendons will be presently described. The morbid anatomy of simple congenital varusclub-foot is not here di
