H., August 20, 1826. Subseqentlyhis parents moved to Derry. His time, during his minority,was divided between laboring on the farm, attending schooland teaching. He pursued his preparatory studies at therinkerton Academy and the Seminary at SanborntonBridge, and graduated at the Wesleyan University, Mid-dletown. Conn., in the class of 1851. He studied theologyat Concord, N. H. Before entering the ministry, he wasprincipal of the Academy at Andover. November 23, 1852, he married Miss Cornelia P. Hall,of Colchester, Conn. Since he joined the New HampshireAnnual Conference of the Methodist Espiscopal Church,he has been stationed at the following places, viz.: Peter- ASTO;. 87 borough, Rindge, Newmarket, Simcook, Lawrence, Mass.,Great Falls, Newport, Keene and Portsmouth. In 1854 he was elected a member of the Legislature,and in 1866 received the appointment of Commissioner ofCommon Schools for Sullivan County and member of theBoard of Education for the state. During the late war heserved for a time in the Christian Commission, chiefly atFortress Monroe and Petersburg. Mr. Dinsmore is an able and highly successful preacherof the gospel in the denomination to which he energy of character and general ability have won forhim an enviable position in the New Hampshire Con-ference.
