San Diego climatic con-ditions are every bit as good as SouthernFrance for the raising of aromatic flow-ers. In fact, the demand in France hasbeen so great that they have importedadulterants from this country, in orderto keep up with the demand, and thenhave shipped the adulterated article backto us as being something better than wecan do ourselves. The raising of the plants represent anincome to France of $60,000,000 annually,while the manufacture of the raw pro-duct and the refining is double thatamount, What a tidy sum that wouldbe to be pouring into Southern California. Four years ago Mr. Moulie sent a lotof soapnut seeds to San Diego, and nodoubt many of those trees are now grow-ing.
