Edison, ofNewark, in the county of Essex and State ofNew Jersey, have invented and made certainImprovemeutsin Printing-Telegraphs,and thefollowing is declared to be a full and exact de-scription of the same. In an application for Letters Patent datedJuly 26, 1871, and allowed August 18, 1871,a printing-telegraph instrument is shown inwhich two type-wheels are employed upon arevolving shaft, said type-wheels being upon asleeve that slides upon the shaft, and is movedby a connection from the printing - lever tobring either type-wheel into position for print-ing. A shield between the paper and type-wheel is employed to prevent an impressionfrom the type-wheel
