Asepticize the wound^ insert a drainage-tube down to the kidney, dress withsterile gauze and make frequent changes of dressings, keep the patient inbed and on a low diet, and give gallic acid and opium. In some cases neph-rectomy, partial or complete, will be required. In intraperitoneal woundsperform an abdominal section and, as a rule, remove the damaged organ (seeNephrectomy).
