A 'kinnar', in India the politically correct term for a transgender / transsexual person or transvestite, hailing from Tamil Nadu in South India

Kinnar are sought out to dispense blessing, and this kinnar is regularly seen in a fish market in Mumbai, India, offering blessings and receiving a few Rupees in return. Colloquially, kinnar are usually known as hijra (eunuchs), a term not deemed PC anymore. In Indian mythology, kinnar are beings with heads, torsos, and arms of a woman and the wings, tails and feet of a swan.
