Collins,commanded a company of Tennessee volun-teers in the battle of New Orleans in was a native of Virginia and died in1842, aged sixty-four years. The father ofthe last mentioned was a Revolutionarysoldier from Virginia, in which State hisancesters settled from Ireland. Mr. Collinsmother, before marriage, was Malinda Reid,a daughter of J. B. Reid, and was the se-cond wife of Mr. Archibald W. Collins, hefirst having married Eliza Reid. On herdeath she left five sons: W. J.; R. W., ofTarrant county, Texas; M. R., County Com-missioner of Tarrant county; and two whoare @/©^ m/iman-.
