Possess-ing a fluent utterance, in whichMoses seems to have been de-ficient, he was appointed hisspokesman, Ex. iv. 16, and inthis character afforded him greatassistance. He was a man ofdistinction among the Hebrews,as may be inferred from his hav-ing married Elisheba, daughterof Amminadab and sister ofNaashon, a prince of the houseof Judah. He had four sons,Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ith-amar, Ex. vi. 23.
