Wooden pulley over a water well - The "Palace Museum", "Al-Ain" ("Al Ain", UAE)
Well pulley detail. Located in the South East of the City of "Al-Ain", "The Palace Museum" was the former palace of the late "HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan" President of the UAE and dates back to work started in 1998. Visitors to "Al-Ain", an oasis, will find this a "magical place". The "Palace Museum" with its wonderfully picturesque defensive walls towers guarding the main-gate offer visitors a chance to spend time exploring this complex. [Areas inside include the former family residence, Courts, Grand Court Tent and Gardens] [Construction materials used are the traditional ones - Mud, milk, plaster, stones, straw and palm tree trunks]. Note Closed for maintenance on Saturdays. If planning a trip to Dubai, Al-Ain is well worth a if possible, a longer stay in this delightful area
