The Hall au Blé, or Corn Market


The view taken in 1828, shows the Hall au Blé, or Corn Market is a modern building designed by Mazieres as a corn market. A Doric pillar was erected on the orders of Catherine de Medicis from designs by Bullant in memory of Henry II. The Hall is a circular building with Tuscan arcades. The image was drawn by T T Bury under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by Fenner Sears and Co.
