MostAmerican breeders of Clydesdales will remember the purchase ofthe celebrated Clydesdale champion Druid, in August, 1881, and hissudden and unexpected death in Chicago in September following, before he had reached Col. Holloways stables. He was confess-edly the grandest Clydesdale stallion of his day, as his series ofvictories at the Highland Societys Show in 1878, 1879, and 1880,and at the Royal in 1879, amply attest. Bide a Wee is particularlyrich in the Victor blood, which entered largely into the pedigreeof Druid, and has given to the Scotch show yards so great a pro-portion of winners. (58)
