Brush and various gray washes over traces of graphite, on ivory wove paper, laid down on cream wove paper The church of Saint Lawrence outside the Walls in Rome attracted many artists—this one yet to be identified. Dated 1827, the drawing is tantalizingly monogramed , so there is still hope that an attribution can be made.
