The map shows part of the southern alps, falling mainly within the northern part of Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Places marked on the map include the following towns and present-day winter sports/ski resorts (spelling may vary from the modern variation): Barcelonnette, Beuil, Seyne, Colmars, Allos, Isola
