I am sure the variety is permanent and will im- prove with proper care, and I cannot even guess at the possibilities of this remarkable Pop ; We planted a small area on our FoRDHOOK Farm, and while we have not been able to select stalks with as many ears on as did Prof. Wetherell, yet we must admit that it is the viost prolific variety we have ever grown^ and certainly a very valuable acquisition. There can be no doubt of the origi- nator's statement as to the number of ears on the stalk, as it has been duly sworn to by a responsible witness. The stalk illustrated herewith was se- lected on our Fordhook Farm and bore six perfect ears. Beside its very prolific character, we were very much pleased with the corn in other respects. The stalks grow six feet high, and the ears are all large in size with grains nearly clear white in color. An average ear measured 6^ inches long and contained 585 perfect kernels, while many ears reached 8 inches in length. It pops pure paper-white and of fine quality. Per package 15 cts.; 2 pkgs. for 25 cts.; 5 pkgs. for 60 cts.; or 10 pkgs. for $, postpaid. Every purchaser of a package of the seed is entitled to compete for $85 IN CASH PRIZES. We will pay $ cash to the grower of the most prolific stalk from seed bought of us this §eason ; $ to the grower of the stalk bearing the second greatest number of ears and $ to the grower of the third most prolific stalk.
