Closeup of a Chicago bridge tower or tender house. The towers, common to most all the city bridges crossing the Chicago River in the central part of the city typically are set in pairs at each bridge site. This tower is at the Lake Shore Drive Bridge across the river which was the final of the downtown spans, being completed in 1937. It is named after President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who dedicated the span.
