As the story of the Easton Roadhas probably led the reader to conclude,Kutz recognized the advantageousness ofthe crossing of the Saucony as a town , as the Schultz map shows, therewere no houses on the site of Kutztownin 1755, there were evidently some, per-haps a number at the time Kutz laid outhis purchase. Why Kutz waited for twenty-four years before laying out this town can-not now be told.
