The road into the canyon from Zion Canyon Lodge is 6 miles ( km) long, ending at the Temple of Sinawava, where the canyon narrows and a footpath continues to the Zion Narrows, a gorge 6m (20 ft) wide and up to 610m (2000 ft) tall. Free shuttle buses, with commentary, transport visitors along the canyon road towards the Temple of Sinawava, April to late October, when private vehicles are banned. The shuttle seen here, at the Temple of Sinawava, transports visitors to Zion Canyon Visitor's Centre.
