Artificial Lake, yellow blooms and lotus flowers, looking towards the Conrad and Marriott Towers, Hong Kong Park, Hong Kong

Hong Kong Park, Central, was opened in 1991 at a cost of HK$ 398 million. Waterfalls, streams, ponds and cliffs of artificial rocks are features in the 8 hectares park, whose modern design blends with the natural landscape. Victoria Barracks (1867-1910) partly occupied the site. The Barracks were handed over to the Hong Kong Civil Government in 1979. The present park was then made. Rawlinson House (Marriage Registry) and Flagstaff House (Teaware Museum) are park buildings surviving in their original positions from the days of British colonial rule.
