A contemporary image of George Thomas hung at Carmarthen Prison at 8 o'clock on Tuesday, February 13th, 1894. He had murdered Mary Jane Jones a 15 year old who he had had a relationship with. When she ended the relationship with her 25 year old lover Thomas, pleaded for one last walk down a Carmarthen country lane . There he cut her throat with a razor before turning himself in to the police. Thomas was a farm labourer who had previously served as an infantry soldier. His victim was Mary Jane Jones.
