'Les Gardiens Camargaises', atop their Camargue horses wait outside the Church of Saintes Marie de La Mer for the church service to end and the procession to the sea to begin. The local horsemen dressed in traditional garb accompany the procession of the Gypsy patron Saint Sarah from the church of Saintes Maries de La Mer into the sea on the May the 24th and Saints Mary Jacobe and Mary Salome on the May the 25th, every year.
