A sunstar bursts through the wooden slats of the red oak and pine Sachs Covered Bridge, also known as the Saucks Covered Bridge and the Waterworks Covered Bridge, build in the Town Truss style, located over Marsh Creek between Cumberland and Freedom Townships, Adams County, Pennsylvania, March 2015, Just west of Gettysburg National Military Park, it is a favorite of ghost hunters having been the site of a triple hanging and in use by both the Union and Confederate armies during the American Civil war. two ghost hunters were taking measurments the day I was there. It was built by David Spooner in 1854 in the style of Ithiel Town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It was repaired after heavy rains washed it from its foundation in 1997.
