Bournemouth, UK. Friday 15th February 2013 - Demolition work begins on the notorious IMAX cinema and leisure complex building in Bournemouth, UK. Known as the "most hated building" in the town since its construction in the 1990's. Once removed, sea views will be restored and a new public open space created at Pier Approach. A total of 13,500 tonnes of building waste will be removed - including 3,000 tonnes of steel and 8,000 tonnes of concrete. The structure was once voted one of the UK's most hated buildings in the Channel 4 programme Demolition.
