A fami;y of Barbary Apes in Gibraltar await the arrival of the next tourist coach. They appear to be able to judge time and often wait in groups for the next tourist coach as seen here. Legend says that when the apes leave, Gibraltar will cease to be British. The animals are strictly tailess Barbary macaques. Those in Gibraltar are the only wild monkey population group on the European continent. 300 animals in five troops occupy the Rock. Locals call them Llanito or monos. (Latin Macaca sylvanus). In 2014 30 'disruptive' individuals were sent to a Scottish safari park in Sterling.
