Graft surgery for degloving foot injury. Artworks illustrating the muscle and skin graft transplants carried out to treat a degloving injury of the foot. Degloving is where traumatic injury strips layers of tissue away from a limb or other body part. This is a case of degloving with grinding avulsion (left), where a grinding motion forcibly removed the tendons from the bones. At upper right are the sites (rectus abdominal muscle and groin skin flap) where the tissue grafts were obtained. At lower right, the harvested tissue with blood vessels intact is grafted onto the foot.
