SOUTH LUANGWA, ZAMBIA: TWO huge hippos have been snapped fighting each other over water and space in an almighty battle of the titans. Spectacular action shots show the two-tonne hippos facing off and aggressively baring their teeth at each other. The omnivores are pictured battling in a lagoon as they slowly drift out to deeper water while the war wounds on one hippo can clearly be seen with a series of red lacerations criss-crossed across its back. The stunning images were taken in South Luangwa, Zambia by safari guide Peter Geraerdts (47), originally from The Hague in the Netherlands.
