These chains and the canopyare finished in antique brass and it is expected that thecardboard shades will later be replaced by metal ones tocorrespond to the chains and canopy. In the cardboard shadesa heavy steel wire was put in above the glass to give stiff-ness to the shade. Page 17 shows several details of theconstruction of the shade.
