Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932), English garden designer, at Deanery Garden, Sonning, Berkshire, c1901. The Deanery (or Deanery Garden) is a house designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in Sonning, Berkshire. Sir Edwin Lutyens built the house for Edward Hudson, owner of Country Life, in 1901. The garden was an example of his collaboration with Gertrude Jekyll. She is pictured beside the terrace bridge in the garden.
