I lived in the Philippines for 27 years before moved to the States. When I got there I worked in a shipyard in San Diego for six months before I decided to join the Navy. It was my dream, because I grew up near the Navy base and saw that they had a good life. So I knew when I moved to the that I wanted to join the Navy. Since I’ve been in, this is my fourth time doing this kind of exercise. It feels great because I get to serve my original country and I’m serving my adopted country as well. So every time I deploy over here I feel so great, especially being able to serve the local community.” ( Marine Corps photo illustration by Sgt. Matthew J. Bragg.
