Marshall Point Lighthouse, Maine


Marshall Point Lighthouse, in Port Clyde, Maine. United States (Tenants Harbor) Driving Directions: From Route 1 in Thomaston, take a left onto Route 131 to Port Clyde, then take a left onto Marshall Point Road, which brings you to a very small parking area. The light is a very short walk. The lighthouse keeper's house is currently the Marshall Point Lighthouse Museum, and the grounds are open to the public. Tourists are allowed to use the walkway up to the lighthouse. Marshall Point lighthouse was built in 1832. In 1895, this lighthouse was destroyed by lightning and rebuilt. It was automated in 1971. In 1994, Marshall Point appeared in the movie "Forrest Gump", giving it notoriety around the world.
