Nainital, Uttarakhand, India- November 13, 2015: Tourists enjoying boating at Mallital, Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. Nainital is a popular hill station in Uttarakhand, named after the Goddess Naina Devi. It also known as the ‘Gateway to Kumaon Himalayas’. Situated at an altitude of 2,084 meters (6,837 ft) above sea level, set in two parts, Tallital and mallital, with a pear shaped Naini Lake, approximately two miles in circumference surrounded by high mountains. Naina peak or Chenna Peak 2,615 meters (8,579 feet) is the highest peak from where a magnificent panoramic views can be obtained of snow covered Himalayan ranges.
