The colors are white, cream, blush and palest mauve, exqui- sitely flamed, flecked and penciled in many combina- tions; some have aureoles around the center of the flower, with red, lavender or pink bands around the eye; some are daintily flecked like birds' eggs; the petals are broad and overlapping, pleated or frilled; edges plain, toothed or lasciniated. The flowers are very large, measuring 3}/2 to 4 inches in diameter, and perfection in form and colors, and enthusiasti- cally admired. Choice mixed 20 Giant Fancy Cosmos. These giant flowers are exceedingly beautiful. In the mixture are immense specimens, measuring 4 inches across. Some are shaped like single Camel- lias, but larger and more beautiful; others are star- shaped and there are many pinked, toothed or fringed, and beautifully overlapping. The colors range from pure white through shades of pink and red. There are dark rich shades of red heretofore unknown in Cosmos. The giant whites are espe- cially handsome, with large broad petals; flowers of great substance, almost as chaste and lovely as Lilies. It is well to start the seeds of this large class in the house early and transplant to open ground after hard frosts are past.
