Stump-tailed macaque, Huangshan National Park, China
At the top of the Huangshan (Yellow Mountains) in China there is a small troop of Tibetian (also called stump-tailed) macaque monkeys (Macaca thibetana) of near threatened status that interact with the tourists for food and also gather and eat fruit from the local trees. This large male monkey was sitting in a tree with a 1000 foot drop beneath it.
