It is about two feet in length,and is secured to the wrist by a cord passingthrough a hole at the end of the of these daggers are still larger, anddouble-pointed, being held in the middle likethe antelope-horn daggers of India. ThisAveapon has a mournful interest from thefact that when Captain Cook was murderedhis body was pierced with innumerablewounds mostly made by wooden daggers,though one of the natives had a daggermade of iron, which they snatched from eachothers hands in their eagerness to inflictfresh wounds.
