Illustration of the Syracuse 4B telecommunication satellite in its geostationary Earth orbit. This is one of two satellites that form a secure telecommunications system for the French military. Syracuse IV is an upgrade to the Syracuse III system. It provides enhanced anti-jamming and cyberattack resistance and increases the number of uses and volume of data that can be handled. Syracuse 4B was launched on 5th July 2023 from the Guiana Space Center, Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
