DNA has two long chains composed of altered molecules of phosphoric acid and deoxyribose linked to four nucleic acids: adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine. The two chains are twisted together forming an helix. DNA molecules are the constituent components of chromosomes. Genes correspond to different fragments of DNA carrying hereditary information. This is a symbolic representation of gene research showing the DNA helix.
