INFLUENZA A H1N1 INFECTION

Influenza A (swine influenza). illustration of the presumed origin of swine influenza or influenza A. This new virus is believed to have originated in several viruses (avian influenza virus, human influenza virus and swine virus) recombined in the organism of the pig. This virus is transmissible from pigs to man through the air, and from man to man through the air and by contact. Insert on virus replication in the body of a host. The viruses (in pink) bind to the surface of the host cell (in bluish green) through host cell receptors that recognize the virus and then enable it to enter the host cell by endocytosis. The RNA of the virus is transformed into RNAm ; it compels the host cell to synthesize the components of the virus (proteins and RNA). These elements aggregate on the surface of the host cell to form large numbers of new H1N1 viruses that will invade the host organism and spread the disease.
