Tomb of Child, made of sun burnt bricks. light side, with the knees bent up,the right arm extended, the leftcrossed over the body, and the headresting upon the breast. It hadapparently sunk down from itsoriginal position. The right side ofthe tomb in which it was placed wasmade of stone instead of brick, and itshead was turned towards the interior of the grave measured16 inches in length, 9 in breadth, and 9 in height. No asbestos was foundwith this skeleton, nor indeed withany of the others, the body of thenewly-born babe alone excepted. Asmay be seen from the plan, the inter-ments are on the west, rather than onthe east, side of the tumulus. According to Professor Virchow, therace t) whom the skeletons belongedwas brachycephalic; and the shin-bones have the remarkable peculiarityof being angular,—a peculiarity nowconfined to the Malay race.
