Plaque in Place de la Concorde, Paris, marking the spot where King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette were executed in 1793. The plaque is located on the ground on the west side of the Obelisk of Luxor in the centre of Place de la Concorde (renamed Place de la Revolution as it became a prime execution spot during the French Revolution). In the summer of 1794, 1300 people were executed (by guillotine) here in one month.
