The middle finger showsa rudimentary metacarpal bone, in the ring finger the second phalanxis absent, and in the little finger it is rudimentary. The four cases about to be reported are of that of an Italian, forty-five years of age, and three of his children. Case I. — The hands of Case I. are shown in Fig. 4, in a skiagramof his right hand in Fig. 5, and his left hand in Fig. 6. An attempthad been made when he was a child at a hospital in Italy to separatethe middle and ring fingers of his left hand.
