The Bude Light sculpture, Bude, Cornwall, England

The Bude Light was designed by Carole Vincent in collaboration with Anthony Fanshawe as part of Bude’s millennium improvement scheme. It is constructed of concrete with colours of sand, sea and sky and at night is lit by fibre optics. The name harks back to local inventor Sir Goldsworthy Gurney (1793-1875), whose ‘Bude Light’ lit the House of Commons for 60 years.
